Monterey, CA – Eight Monterey High School 10th, 11th and 12th graders were award winners in the Foundation4Innovation’s Social Media and Marketing Challenge 2021. Students were challenged to create a revised social media campaign for either Goodwill of the Central Coast or the National Steinbeck Center. The goal was to assess the current state of outreach and make recommendations for a social media overhaul of either business.

  • Senior Katelynn Baggett received the Grand Champion: Arts, Media & Digital Entertainment/Digital Media, Print & Graphic Design and took home $500 for her project Readers for Today, Writers of Tomorrow.
  • Seniors Jayden Patterson and Finn Sonrode took 2nd place in the Social Media and Marketing Campaign for the National Steinbeck Center and received $250 for their project Steinbeck: A Place to Learn.
  • 10th grader Alex Ortiz and 11th grader Alexander Morales took 1st place in Best Overall Social Media and Marketing Campaign Central Coast Goodwill Workforce Development and received $750 for their project Goodwill Getting People Back to Work.
