Mask Requirement
For the safety of our Students and Staff anyone boarding an MPUSD school bus must wear a face covering/mask.  Thank you for your cooperation.
 
General Education Busing
Monterey Peninsula Unified School District is pleased to announce that general education student Transportation will resume for the 2021-22 school year.  If your child is eligible for Special Needs Transportation, please see below for information regarding busing. 
 
To apply for a general education bus pass please go to 540 Canyon Del Rey, Monterey to our Transportation building (the one with the buses around it).  You will need to provide documentation of proof of residency for the attendance area of the school your child is attending to be eligible for busing.  Unfortunately we do not serve all areas, so please call ahead for details.

Special Education Busing Information
If your student has an IEP that includes transportation as a necessary service and you are requesting busing for the 2021-22 school year, please click on the link below to fill out a Transportation Request Form: Special Education Transportation Form
 
It is extremely important to submit a form as early as possible to ensure your student receives busing to prevent extended delay.  It normally takes 5 to 7 business days for normal processing and up to two weeks to route new students during peak times such as the beginning of school.

School Bus Driver Work Requirements
All School Bus Drivers must go through a thorough screening, which includes fingerprinting by the school district and California Highway Patrol as well as controlled substance testing.  They are also required to complete extensive training to obtain and retain their bus driver certification.  These are safety sensitive positions that require extensive screening and training as they are transporting our most precious cargo!
