MEASURE I

The Monterey Peninsula Unified School District's vision is to become one of the finest public school systems in the country by engaging each student in deep learning that prepares them to solve the challenges of the 21st century. Our district has made significant progress over the past four years.

Despite the growing success of our students, the district's "newest" school was built in 1965, more than 50 years ago, and all of our schools are in need or repair. While some classrooms and school facilities have been updated recently, there is more work to be done.

Looking to the future, MPUSD is closely examining school facility needs and essential improvements and upgrades to maintain our culture of excellence of powerful teaching and learning, music and arts, early childhood education, facilities and technology, social emotional support, and reimagining secondary education. Our district has undertaken a comprehensive Facilities Master Planning process to identify and prioritize the most urgent needs in local classrooms, labs and school facilities.

Community input is a critical component of this process and we want to hear from you. We hope that you will make your voice heard by filling out the survey below.

Monterey High School will soon be home to a new Science Collaboration Center as a result of Measure P dollars.
