2022 Stuff the Bus – Deloitte Impact Day

Monterey Peninsula USD Family Resource Center

1295 La Salle Ave. Seaside, CA 93955

“Impact Day is Deloitte’s annual day of service that celebrates our year-round commitment to collectively making an impact that matters in the communities where we live and work. In alignment with this mission, the local Deloitte Team looks forward to giving back to Monterey county,” Juan Vasco, Senior Consultant - Program Manager, Deloitte Consulting LLP.

This special event will be customized for participating Deloitte team members who will assemble nearly 700 2nd – 5th grade backpacks for the annual countywide school supply drive, Stuff the Bus. The backpacks will be assembled for family resource centers in the Salinas City Elementary School District and the Monterey Peninsula Unified School District for further distributions to students.

"Our students need adequate supplies to feel prepared for school and confident in the classroom, yet Monterey County has over 10,000 students who are defined as homeless and may otherwise be unable to afford these essential items. Stuff the Bus is a remarkable program that gives our homeless students the supplies they need to feel confident and ready to learn," said Dr. Deneen Guss, Monterey County Superintendent of Schools.

The program’s objective is to provide basic school supplies for children who otherwise would not be able to afford them. This last year, there were more than 10,500 students in Monterey County who were defined as homeless. Stuff the Bus helps students start school equipped with the supplies they need to be ready to learn.
