The Board reported the following from Closed Session:
APPROVED Leland Hansen as Assistant Principal of the Dual Language Academy Motioned by Tom Jennings, Seconed by Dr. Bettye Lusk. Vote 7-0.
Mr. Hansen thanked the Board and Superintendent for the opportunity.

  1. PUBLIC COMMENT
    Minutes:
    Charlie Goldman, resident of the District, requested an update on the Bond. Dr. Diffenbaugh informed Mr. Goldman he will put him in touch with the right people.
    Cleve Waters, Seaside High senior requested the Board assist them in any way they can with music and drum line materials. Cleve shared as a leader, he too has spent several hundred dollars of his own money to assist with drumline equipment.
    Former Seaside High student Sydney Johnson spoke regarding the District's needs for more mental health awareness and assistance.
    NAACP Representative Regena Mason shared the Assembly Bill 2022 regarding mental health on campus.
    Helen Rucker thanked Seaside Middle School Principal Manny Nunez, the teachers and students who worked during their Spring break to interview her regarding the Civil Rights Award that will be going to the State. Mrs. Rucker also thanked the Board for sponsoring the students to attend this event.
    Lucia Brown, Marina High student requested the Board reconsider having School Resource Officers on campus.
    Former Seaside High Student Sydney Johnson spoke regarding her concern regarding 7 period day.
    MBTA President Tom Grych thanked the students for speaking regarding 7 period day.
    Rosalyn Charles thanked all the students for speaking up. Ms. Charles disagreed with Marina High student regarding having School Resource Officers on campus and felt it would be best to have District funds go towards student programs.
    NAACP representative Regena Mason informed the public that NAACP covers the whole county and does not believe School Resource Officers should be on campus.
    Community enthusiast Wes Wisely, spoke regarding Restorative Justice for all.
    Seaside High School student Janelle Inductivo expressed her support of having more mental health adults at schools.
