Important Information About Statewide Student Data Breach

We want to make our MPUSD community aware of a data breach involving Educational Testing Service (ETS), a company that provides statewide student assessment services for the California Department of Education (CDE).
This was not a breach of MPUSD's systems. The incident involved a contractor working with the California Department of Education.
ETS recently discovered that unauthorized individuals accessed and copied student information. According to the CDE, the breach involved student records from the past three school years and potentially earlier years.
Depending on the student, the information may have included names, birth dates, addresses, student identification numbers and state assessment results, among other student information.
We encourage families to review the official Notice of Data Breach for additional details, eligibility information and enrollment instructions.
For information and updates about the data breach, families are encouraged to visit the California Department of Education's dedicated CDE Website. Information is available in multiple languages.
