Week of the School Administrator | October 12–18, 2026

When you think of a school administrator, a principal may be the first person who comes to mind. But across the Monterey Peninsula Unified School District, administrators serve in dozens of roles that touch nearly every part of a student's school experience.
During Week of the School Administrator, October 12 – 18, 2026, MPUSD is proud to recognize 49 administrators whose leadership, expertise and commitment help support our students, staff, schools and families every day.
Their work spans our entire district.
They lead and support elementary and secondary learning, special education, student services, community schools, behavioral health, human resources, career technical education and work-based learning. They oversee critical services including nutrition, transportation, technology, facilities and operations. They also help strengthen attendance, student well-being, family connections and the programs and systems that keep our schools moving forward.
While their responsibilities may look very different, each plays an important role in creating the conditions students and educators need to succeed.
Our administrators connect families with resources, support and develop staff, solve problems, expand opportunities for students and work behind the scenes to ensure our schools are welcoming, safe and ready for learning.
Week of the School Administrator is an opportunity to recognize the people behind this work and the many different forms leadership takes throughout MPUSD.
To our 49 administrators: thank you for your leadership, care, expertise and dedication to our students, staff and families.
You demonstrate every day why We’re Better Together.
