October is Filipino American History Month, a time to recognize and celebrate the history, culture, experiences and contributions of Filipino Americans across the United States.

Throughout the month, MPUSD joins communities across the country in honoring the generations of Filipino Americans whose leadership, service, traditions and achievements have helped shape our nation and our communities.

Here at MPUSD, we are especially proud to recognize our Filipino American students, families, staff and community members and the many ways they enrich our schools and the Monterey Peninsula.

Filipino American History Month also provides an opportunity for our students and community to learn more about Filipino American history and the stories and experiences that are an important part of our shared history.

Mabuhay, and happy Filipino American History Month!
