September 13 – 19 is National Adult Education and Family Literacy Week, an opportunity to recognize the important role adult education plays in strengthening individuals, families and communities.

At Monterey Adult School, students of all ages and backgrounds are pursuing their goals, from improving English and literacy skills to earning a high school diploma, preparing for careers and continuing their education.

Adult education can also have an impact across generations. When parents and caregivers pursue their own learning, they model perseverance, curiosity and the value of education for their children.

This week, we celebrate our adult learners and the educators who support them every step of the way.
