Back-to-School Connections | August 17 - 21, 2026

Back-to-School Connections are coming August 17 – 21, 2026, and we encourage every MPUSD family to participate.
These conversations are about more than meeting your child’s teacher. They are an opportunity for us to get to know your child, and your family, more personally and begin building the partnership that will support their success throughout the school year.
You know your child best. Sharing what makes them excited to learn, where they may need extra encouragement, what has worked well in the past, and what you hope for them this year gives our teachers valuable insight from the very beginning.
For elementary families, Back-to-School Connections provide dedicated time with your child’s teacher. Middle school families will connect with their child’s advisory teacher, who serves as an important point of connection throughout the year.
Why Attend?
Back-to-School Connections give families and teachers a chance to:
- Get to know one another beyond the classroom.
- Share your child’s strengths, interests, needs and goals.
- Ask questions and discuss how we can best support your child.
- Establish open communication early in the school year.
- Begin a strong school-family partnership focused on your child’s success.
August 17 – 21, 2026
To provide time for these important conversations, students will have early release throughout the week:
Elementary Schools: 12:50 p.m.
Middle Schools: 1:30 p.m.
Your school will share information about scheduling your Back-to-School Connection.
We look forward to getting to know you and your child better because when families and schools work together, students thrive.
