Deaf & Hard-of-Hearing
Deaf & Hard-of-Hearing Supports
In MPUSD students who have hearing impairments or who are Deaf are supported in a variety of ways, based on student need. From partnering with families and other professionals to support a student in developing language skills through their chosen modality to building self advocacy skills and learning to use tools to support access to instruction, MPUSD can support children throughout their development from birth through the achievement of a high school diploma or the age of 22.
If you are the parent of an infant who has been recently identified as having a hearing impairment or who is Deaf, please contact our Infant Intake Coordinator, Michelle Sturgill at [email protected] or 831-901-5029 to discuss the process of assessment to determine if your child is eligible for special education services.
