NOTICE OF INTENT TO ADOPT A MITIGATED NEGATIVE DECLARATION

In compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), Monterey Peninsula Unified School District has undertaken environmental review for the proposed Monterey High School Athletic Field Improvements project, and intends to adopt a Mitigated Negative Declaration.  The Monterey Peninsula Unified School District invites all interested persons and agencies to comment on the proposed Monterey High School Athletic Field Improvements project.

Project Description:

The Monterey Peninsula Unified School District (“school district”) plans to implement stadium improvements at the existing high school football stadium and to improve an existing dirt area adjacent to the stadium into a multi-use field. Site improvements at the existing 3.53-acre football stadium include: new field lighting including three (3) 80-foot high and one 70-foot high lighting poles, new 500-seat visitor bleachers, and new press box. Site improvements at the 2.16-acre dirt lot include: a new softball and multi-use synthetic field, improvements to a track and field event area, and 2,400 square foot weight room/team room building.

LEGAL NOTICE
NOTICE INVITING INTERESTED CONTRACTORS FOR THE 2019 INFORMAL BID LIST FOR
MONTEREY PENINSULA UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT
The Monterey Peninsula Unified School District ("District") has adopted the California Uniform Public Construction Cost Accounting Act and invites all interested licensed contractors to submit their company for inclusion on the District's Informal Bidding Contractors List for each respective calendar year. 
 
NOTE:  Companies must resubmit each year.
 
Per California Public Contract Code 22032, any Public Works Project that is estimated to be below $200,000 is subject to the Informal Bidding Procedures set forth by the State of California Uniform Construction Cost Accounting Commission.  All trade categories are subject to Informal Bidding Procedures.  Contractors interested in being on the Informal Bidding Contractors List are required to have a current license and are subject to verification through the Contractors State License Board.
 
Additionally, pursuant to SB 854, no contractor or subcontractor may be listed on a bid for a public works project (submitted on or after March 1, 2015) unless registered with the Department of Industrial  Relations (DIR) and no contractor or subcontractor may be awarded a contract for a public works project (awarded on or after April 1, 2015) unless registered with the DIR per California Labor Code section 1725.5.
