Military Liaison Elaine Vrolyks gave her report.

VII.c. Recognize Marina High School Teacher Michael Dremel for Demonstrating Heroic Measures
Minutes:
Dr. PK Diffenbaugh and Marina High School Principal Rebecca Tyson Presented. Marina High School Teacher Michael Dremel thanked the Board and the Superintendent for the recognition. Mr. Dremel thanked students, staff, administrators and emergency response as he feels it was a team effort. Mr. Dremel requested the Board give staff training in case there is another emergency like this. Marina High School student Kyle Larson thanked Mr. Dremel for saving his life. Kevin and his family family gave Mr. Dremel a thank you gift. Kevin’s father, Don Larson, a registered nurse and CPR instructor offered to give CPR classes to the teachers at Marina High.

VII.d. Recognition of Ms. Martha Henry Sixth Grade Teacher at Seaside Middle School as the Recipient of the 2016 Crystal Apple Award Sponsored by KSBW
Minutes:
Dr. PK Diffenbaugh and Seaside Middle School Principal Manny Nuñez recognized Teacher Martha Henry for being the recipient of the 2016 Crystal Apple Award sponsored by KSBW. Seaside Middle School teacher Martha Henry thanked the Board and the Superintendent for the recognition.
