The district encourages all parents, guardians, and family members to support their students’ path toward literacy. 

Here are some ideas to get started from First 5 California: Raising A Reader

1. Be a reading role model
2. Encourage reading of anything with written words like street signs or packaging on a box
3. Plan a family book night
4. Create a bookshelf
5. Encourage older siblings to read with younger siblings
6. Replace screen time with book time
