Introducing the MPUSD Legacy Employee Program.

Some of the people shaping the future of Monterey Peninsula Unified School District once sat in our classrooms themselves.

The MPUSD Legacy Employee Program honors employees who began their educational journey as MPUSD students and later returned to serve the district as educators, leaders, and support staff. These individuals represent the full circle of public education students who were shaped by MPUSD schools and chose to come back to give back.

Each honoree receives a gold Legacy Pin, a visible symbol of pride, connection, and lifelong belonging. More than a recognition, the pin tells a powerful story: MPUSD is not just a place to work. It’s a place people call home.

Legacy staff members can be found across the district in every role and at every level. Their journeys serve as a living reminder to today’s students that what starts in an MPUSD classroom can lead anywhere, including right back here, making a difference for the next generation.

Through the Legacy Employee Program, MPUSD celebrates roots, honors full-circle journeys, and reinforces a culture of belonging. These stories matter. They inspire. And they remind us that once you’re part of MPUSD, you’re always part of MPUSD.
