The safety and well-being of our students and staff are a top priority. This priority also extends to our families. We understand that there have been some concerns and rumors regarding the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, also commonly referred to as ICE or in Spanish terms La Migra, in our community.

Many of our students and families are experiencing anxiety and worry regarding possible impacts to their family. We want to assure you that our schools are safe and your student is safe while they are on our campus no matter their or their parents’ immigration status.

In the 2024-2025 school year, MPUSD held a Know Your Rights workshop for families. The information provided may be found here. The ACLU also provides an Immigration Rights Resource for families and you can sign up to receive regular information from them.

We acknowledge this is a very uncertain time. We are here to help. If you have specific questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to your child’s teacher, school principal, or other caring adult that you trust on campus.
