Alder Teacher Residency

If you are a teacher with a Cleared California Credential, and seeking employment with MPUSD, please see our Human Resources page for information on current employment opportunities, salary, and benefits.

We at the Monterey Peninsula Unified School District know that if we are on our way to becoming one of the finest public school systems in the country that serves ALL students well, and engages each student in deep learning that prepares them to solve the challenges of the 21st century, we must recruit and retain high quality teachers.

Earn your teaching credential and master's degree in just one year while also gaining hands-on experience in an MPUSD classroom with a mentor teacher. Comes with a $15,000 living stipend and you can access grants and scholarships to apply toward the tuition.

Butte County Office of Education Classified Employee Grant: This grant is offered to anyone who has been a classified employee with any school district in the state of California. It is $3,400 per fiscal year. Because of Alder's schedule, candidates would be eligible to receive this twice for a total amount of $6,800. It goes in line with the MPUSD tuition reimbursement already added.

Schedule a call with Sebastian Franco at Alder to learn more here.

In partnership with Alder Graduate School of Education, residents will participate in a rigorous teacher preparation program through the lens of equity and inclusion whereby they earn their teaching credential and masters degree in one year.
