On November 21, 2025, the Monterey Peninsula Unified School District celebrates the dedicated individuals who step into classrooms and keep learning moving forward: our guest teachers (substitute educators).
At MPUSD, we are deeply grateful for our guest teachers who ensure that every student continues to learn and thrive, even when their regular teacher is away. Whether it’s covering for illness, family needs, or professional development, guest educators bring flexibility, skill, and heart to every assignment.
This school year, MPUSD is supported by 229 active guest teachers who make an incredible difference across our schools. Each day, we rely on dozens of them to provide continuity, stability, and care for our students, often stepping in at a moment’s notice to keep the classroom experience seamless.
Their professionalism, adaptability, and commitment to education do not go unnoticed. They are an essential part of our MPUSD family, and we thank them for showing up, stepping in, and supporting our students every single day.
Happy National Substitute Educators Day!
Join MPUSD in celebrating and thanking our substitute educators who make a lasting impact across our classrooms and school communities.
