October marks National Bullying Prevention Month at MPUSD

As October marks National Bullying Prevention Month, the Monterey Peninsula Unified School District is reaffirming commitments to creating safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environments.

In September 2025, fourteen of MPUSD’s 16 schools earned honors through the California PBIS Recognition System for the 2024–2025 school year, with 11 schools achieving the top-tier Platinum distinction — the highest number in district history.

Through the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) framework, MPUSD schools actively promote kindness, respect, and inclusion — key elements in preventing bullying and helping students thrive socially, emotionally, and academically.

This year’s recognitions also reflect growth across the district, including new platinum awards for Monterey High School, and major jumps for Central Coast High School and Crumpton Elementary.

As the district celebrates this achievement, it reaffirms its ongoing commitment to ensuring every student feels safe, supported, and valued — this month and all year long.
