Dual Enrollment
Dual Enrollment Program
The Monterey Peninsula Unified School District offers a robust Dual Enrollment program that allows students to earn college credit while still completing their high school diploma. Through a strong partnership with Monterey Peninsula College, students have access to college-level courses taught by college faculty on high school campuses, online, or at the college.
Through the College and Career Access Pathways (CCAP) partnership, MPUSD students can enroll in classes that count toward both high school graduation and college credit at the same time. This opportunity helps students get a head start on their college education, explore career pathways, and reduce the time and cost needed to earn a degree.
MPUSD offers multiple dual enrollment pathways across its high schools, including general education courses that meet University of California and California State University transfer requirements (Cal-GETC), as well as career-focused pathways such as Business Administration, Graphic Design, Medical Assisting, Theatre Arts, and Music, .
Looking ahead, MPUSD and MPC are expanding early college opportunities, including dual enrollment in middle school and a new Early College High School Program that will allow students to join a targeted pathway starting in ninth grade. These programs are designed to increase access, remove barriers to higher education, and create clear pathways from high school to college and careers.
Through dual enrollment, MPUSD is empowering students to challenge themselves academically, explore their interests, and graduate prepared for success in college, career, and beyond.
