MPUSD Celebrates Computer Science Education Week | December 8 - 14, 2025

MPUSD joins schools across the nation in celebrating Computer Science Education Week (CSEdWeek) December 8 - 14, 2025, a yearly recognition held during the birthday week of computing pioneer Admiral Grace Murray Hopper. Classrooms across our district are leaning into this year’s theme: “CS Powers AI Innovation.”

As Artificial Intelligence continues to shape industries and careers of the future, MPUSD is committed to ensuring our students build strong foundations in computer science, computational thinking, problem-solving, creativity, and collaboration.

Organizations including the Computer Science Teachers Association, Google, Code.org, and many others are hosting kickoff events, webinars, and free learning tools to support this year’s focus on AI literacy.

At MPUSD, our students aren’t just learning to use technology, they’re learning to create it, question it, and shape its future. From elementary school exploration to high school pathways that prepare students for college and career, computer science remains a critical part of our effort to equip all learners with the skills needed to thrive in a rapidly evolving world.

How Families and Students Can Participate

  • Participate in Hour of AI activities at home

  • Explore coding tutorials from Code.org, MakeCode, and Adafruit

  • Attend virtual kickoff events hosted by CSTA

  • Try out AI learning quests designed for K - 12 students

  • Encourage curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving

MPUSD celebrates our teachers, students, and partners who continue to make computer science accessible, engaging, and empowering for all. Computer science is powering the future, and our students are helping build it.
