Food Resources for Families

The Monterey Peninsula Unified School District understands that many of our families rely on government support programs, such as SNAP benefits, or may just need a little extra assistance to supplement their nutrition needs. As we enter the holiday season and during this time of uncertainty with the government shutdown, MPUSD remains committed to ensuring families are aware of local resources that can help meet food needs.

MPUSD proudly partners with and supports several community organizations providing food to families across our district:

The Giving Drive (Seaside)

Wednesdays | 4:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

The Giving Market (Marina)
Marina High School (enter from Patton Parkway and follow signs to the left)
Tuesdays | 4:30 - 6:00 p.m.
Fridays | 4:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. (Closed November 28)
Please DO NOT arrive before 4:00 p.m. to respect school dismissal.

Meals on Wheels - In partnership with MPUSD’s Central Coast High School, Meals on Wheels provides free, take-home meals prepared by chefs in their kitchen for all MPUSD students and families. Meals are distributed every Friday from 1:30 - 2:30 p.m. at Central Coast High School, 200 Coe Avenue, Seaside, while supplies last.

Everyone’s Harvest - Expanding access to fresh, locally grown produce through community farmers’ markets and partnerships with MPUSD schools. (see flyer below)

Brighter Bites - Three of our campuses offer Brighter Bites, free fresh produce boxes. You must have a child at the school and a parent/guardian must pick up the food. Enrollment is required to receive the box. Enroll HERE and select the Salinas/Tri County Areas region. Schools that offer include: Del Rey Woods Elementary School, Dual Language Academy of the Monterey Peninsula, Olson Elementary School, 

Together, these partnerships reflect MPUSD’s commitment to serving the whole child and supporting families beyond the classroom.
