The Monterey Peninsula Unified School District honored 38 teachers, classified staff, and administrators who have dedicated their lives and years of service to serving students and the community.
On May 11, 2022, the district proudly recognized the 2021-2022 retirees at a reception at Central Coast High. Student and staff participation was incorporated into the special event, including music performance by Marina High School’s string quartet under the direction of teacher Maria Carney. Food was created and catered by MPUSD Culinary students under the leadership of Seaside High School Chef Sorensen and Central Coast HIgh School Chef Esteybar, and Marina High School Chef Mello.
Thank you extends to Sergeant Miller and the Seaside High School JROTC Honor Guard for the beautiful presentation of colors. Board of Education members along with Superintendent PK Diffenbaugh, Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources Dr. Manny Nuñez, district office leadership, and Classified School Employees Association and Monterey Bay Teachers Association leaders were present to celebrate retirees.
