On Wednesday, October 21 students and staff will participate in the Great ShakeOut earthquake drill at 10:21 a.m.
All participants will be asked to "Drop, Cover, and Hold On."
According to ShakeOut.org, more than 66 million people participated in Great ShakeOut Earthquake Drills in 2019. The International ShakeOut Day is every third Thursday of October each year.
During the drill at MPUSD schools and facilities, office staff will test the district emergency radio communication system. The drill is expected to last one minute, with an evacuation directly afterward.
