Five Monterey Peninsula Unified School District Leaders Named Association of California School Administrator Region 10 Administrators of the Year
Monterey, CA - In the Monterey Peninsula Unified School District leadership is viewed as an action and not as a position. In keeping with the district’s MPUSD Way and six pillars, including “leadership as the lever,” the district is proud to announce that five MPUSD administrators were named the 2022-2023 Association of California School Administrators Region 10 administrators of the year in the following categories:
- Business Services: Ryan Altemeyer, Associate Superintendent, Business Services
- Secondary Co-Administrator: Tessa Brown, Assistant Principal, Seaside High School
- Elementary Principal: Rita Burks, Principal, Dual Language Academy
- Special Education: Heather Cheatham, Director, Special Education
- Human Resources/Personnel: Dr. Manny Nuñez, Assistant Superintendent, Human Resources
These leaders were selected from administrators in San Benito, Santa Cruz and Monterey counties and measured against six criteria by the Association of California School Administrators Region 10 Board of Directors. They will be honored in a region wide awards ceremony on May 5. All five advance to the state level for consideration of a statewide award.
