After School Academy (ASA) Middle School
ASA Middle School
The After School Academy Middle School Program provides students with academic and social enrichment. The students can also choose from a variety of clubs being offered simultaneously. The clubs may include, technology, graphic design, cooking, sewing, and sports. Students participate in the selection process with regard to the club offerings, which helps ensure their participation. Students are also offered academic support opportunities during after school by credentialed teachers.
The academic component is aligned with the school day Common Core State Standards and S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math). This model allows students to get additional support in areas where needed; while simultaneously offering other students the opportunity to master the core lessons.
In addition, the students are offered enrichment components. One specifically designed to help students succeed socially through Positive Behavior and Intervention Support and team building activities, such as sports, field trips, and games; the other component offers a nutritious snack and at some sites supper to support healthy living and good nutrition.
